On the Origin of Species – Darwin
In this seminal book, Darwin made the argument to society and to our group that created a paradigm shift in our thinking. He took the current view of the time and turned it upside-down. Before his book was published, people had viewed different species as being independently created. Darwin showed that species had been evolving and are continuing to evolve in a process known as Natural Selection. Our group has come together to shed some light on this new way of viewing our world. It was an extremely enlightening experience, both for myself, and for the group. “There is grandeur in this view of life, with it’s several powers…from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”
