You asked, we answered! Proust is on our calendar for 2022. We started with Swann’s Way, which is volume 1 of In Search of Lost Time. In this seminar we’ll read volume 2, In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower.

In the volumes that compose Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, the author takes up the challenge of narrating a life. But he does so in a way that makes his readers aware of the challenges he faces as he undertakes this project. How do you tell the story of your life? What events are key? What details are relevant? How to relate one moment to another? In this seminar we consider these questions as we undertake a close reading of the second volume in the series, In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower.

When: Four weekly sessions on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Eastern, starting February 13, 2022

Duration: 2 hours per session

Cost: C$250 plus 13% HST (approx. US$195 plus 13% HST)

Group Size: 12-participant limit

How: We meet on Zoom; you will receive joining instructions approx. 3 weeks before the seminar start date. All our Zoom seminars are password-protected and are not recorded. See full conditions at the bottom of this page.
