On the Road with Ann — Touching Down in Iceland

My first impressions of Iceland were that I found it reminiscent of Newfoundland. And yes, they do wear Icelandic sweaters. Only 320,000 people in entire country. We have a great guide whose early years were spent in Nova Scotia. And yes, like just about everyone here, she’s a writer. Working on second novel. Her first is “a kind of dark existential French book about a woman full of self-doubt and self-loathing after the economic crisis here.” It has not been translated. We have a great group – two sets of sisters. Half are Classical Pursuits old timers. Half are new. Off now to Harpa Hall for concert of Icelandic music.
